Zachary posing at a Kowloon Park lake he found which was decorated for the Chinese New Year,
Decorated lake in Kowloon Park...
STOP THE PRESSES... Zachary smiling in a picture!?!?!!? This action must be recorded.
Decorated lake in Kowloon Park...
A cool looking duck in Kowloon Park who is taking a break from some itching.
Duck in Kowloon Park...
Pink flamingos in Kowloon Park. Zachary was unable to balance as long on one leg.

Unsolved Mysteries...
As seen from the bridge above, is this turtle real or fake? Tina says it is fake because it never moved the whole time we were at the park. Eric says it is real as it is sunning itself on a real tree stump. Zachary would not let me throw him in to solve this... The world may never know.
Kowloon Park turtle...
Ok, enough "adult" stuff. Time to play in Kowloon Park.

I think I can...I think I can...

Picture of Zachary, who is "not tired", as we wait at the hotel for the shuttle to take us to the Kowloon train station.
Waiting for the shuttle...
Waiting for the airport train at the Kowloon station.
At the Kowloon train station...
Ok, I may be a proud 6 and a half year old, but I still need some cuddle time.
At the Kowloon train station...
Zachary "playing" with the built-in TVs on the train in route to the Hong Kong airport. This train ride was very smooth and did not have the metal scrapping sound that we hear on BART.
Hong Kong train to the airport...
In addition to the smooth ride, the train had many nice features, like crystal clear multilingual instructions and this neat progress bar. After the Tsing Yi station, we crossed the Tsing Ma bridge, which is the longest spanning suspension bridge in the world (surpassing our beloved Golden Gate). Since the train goes through the bridge, we were unable to see its splendor.
Hong Kong train to the airport...
A fishing boat as seen from the train.
Fishing boat...
When we got off the train, we were greeted by the enormous Hong Kong International Airport's edifice.
Hong Kong International Airport...
I mean...It is REALLY quite expansive. The British leveled an island to build this airport. Though the airport was to be completed before Hong Kong was returned to China's sovereign control, this was not to be.
Hong Kong International Airport...
We flew the Hong Kong-based carrier Dragon Air to take us to Chongqing. The flight time was about 1 hour 30 minutes, which is about the same time as flying from San Francisco to Phoenix. The flight was very uneventful but the ground was not visible due to thick clouds. Little did we know this was the last time we would see the sun for a few weeks.

Before boarding the plane, Zachary had a blast riding in Hong Kong airports small luggage carts.
