Renée's Picture Gallery
Wednesday, February 16 (2 of 3) • Gallery Menu • Previous Day • Next Day
The first picture with ALL of us. Eric sneaked around back so Renée would not see him. This is after Zachary's singing...notice how much calmer we are.
All in the family...
After chugging the bottle, Renée is scoping out the joint with her bottle now acting as a toothpick.
Snack Time over...
Cheek-Cheek!!!
One of our favorite pictures. Renée is still scoping out the joint. This picture was originally taken for Eric's coworker who cannot wait to squeeze Renée's cheeks. In this closeup, you can see a scratch below the right eye and the red cheeks are dry skin, most likely due to the cold since the orphanage is not a heated building. We have since started to doctor her cheeks to make them smooth in preparation for Eric's coworker.
Cheek-cheek...
We are finding that Renée loves to walk. Zachary is trying to be so gentle.
I wanna walk some more...
You've seen that I can cry...now look at my smile!
About 40 minutes have passed and Renée continues to become more comfortable.
My first smile...
Time to head back to the hotel. Candy offers up some instructions before handing the mic back to Deborah. Candy is our trip guide, is from Beijing and knows the paper-work stuff inside and out. Deborah is our Chongqing city guide and will not travel with us to Guangzhou.
Our guide Candy...
On the bus heading back to the hotel. Renée seems very visual and loves to look around. Maybe this is why she like to walk so much.
The bus ride home...
This is an older Chongqing apartment. Interestingly, the balcony in this complex is surrounded by metal bars. They have placed wood on the bottom for a floor and have a roof to protect it from debris falling from an upper balcony.
Older Chongqing appartment...
Crossing the Jialing River in Chongqing. This river feeds into the Yangzi river. The city of Chongqing was originally built at the junction of both rivers.
Chongqing river crossing...
Same crossing, different zoom level. The radio tower can be viewed from our hotel. Just to the left of the picture is the highest point in Chongqing. We will visit this park later.
Chongqing river crossing...
Still on the bus, Renée studies Tina's face and grabs at her tongue.
The bus ride home...
The front entrance to the Wanyou Conifer hotel.
Our hotel...
La grandiose entrée...
With doors opened wide, Tina and Renée make their Hollywood-like entrance into the hotel.
La grandiose entrée...
In the hotel's lift, we find that we actually have two Renées...identical twins.
Two Renées?!?!
We have removed two of her four shirts and one of her two pants (the remaining pants are split pants...with a diaper underneath). She seems very excited to play ball with us.
Ball Time...
One-arm baby pushup
Even though she is small, ya better watch out. She had a blast playing with the ball.
One-arm baby pushup...
Look Dad, I can palm the ball!!!
Palming the ball...
This is her first all-out close-the-eyes laugh. Confidentially, we always laugh when Tina puts a sock on an upside-down doll...its all in her technique.
First Laughter...
Handing the ball to mama.
Handing the ball...
Taking her first bath with her new doll. We found no visible skin issues, such as scabies. She continues to look like a healthy child.
Bath time...
Playing in the bath tub. We have introduced so many new things to her today and wonder if she has ever played with a cup in water. Our guess is not, since the orphanage building is not heated.
