June 10, 2005 - Zachary's first grade graduation ceremony.
We may never know what is going through Zachary's mind.
Zachary's name is called. But he wasn't embarrassed.
Each year, 3 first graders tell the graduating kindergarten children what to expect in first grade. Kei (on the right) spoke in Japanese, Zachary was in English and the girl on the right spoke in Mandarin. Zachary did a superb job - we have it on video.
Each year, the elementary girls perform a dance.
Afterwards, they grab various parents to dance with them. Needless to say, Tina and Eric were easy targets.
After the graduation, we had a surprise for Zachary. We got into the car and started driving east. After many minutes, Zachary finally asked where we were going, to which Eric said 'we are getting cheaper gas on the other side of the bay'. 'oh, ok' was Zachs response. After about 30 minutes, he figured we were going somewhere and 'wanted to guess where we were going'

For his graduation, we traveled to Modesto, CA to have dinner at Jon's Pizza (which Zachary absolutely loves) and spent the night. This was Tina and Renee's first time at Jon's, which they also loved. In fact, Renée did really well with the transition - she seems to be able to tolerate a lot when we are a family.

We were able to go swimming at the hotel. Here we have a neat picture of mother and daughter walking hand in hand to the pool.

Dad, aren't you going swimming with us?
Renée's first time in a pool. Zachary had fun splashing us and he knew it was more difficult for Daddy to retaliate.
Renée liked everything, except for the getting her head wet. Eric was mean and dunked her a couple times. She didn't choke but she did not like water in her eyes and she let Daddy know that.
June 12th, we have returned home and Renée is demonstrating a new skill. We are so proud of our little pug.

June 22nd, This was the last day she wore this outfit - she just keeps on growing. The thing about this outfit is that is accentuates her small ankles and large thighs. Almost looks like two peg-legs.

June 24th, reading a bedtime story with Mommy. Just like Zachary, Renée loves to read books.
