Renée's First Trip To Tilden Park Gallery
May 28, 2005... For Memorial Day weekend, we took the family to Tilden Park in the Berkeley hills and visited the Little Farm and the Steam Train engine. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by this oversized lactating slab of bacon.
One of her piglets doing some scratch action.
A turkey strutting his stuff. The other turkey was behind the camera.
The ladies watch the fowl.
Renée and a hen chat...
Zachary's turn with the hen... So, who won this matchup?
Le mooo...
Enters Robert, a hungry young calf. The kids loved watching him.
Even the big kids.
Eventually we were able to get Zachary to pet the calf, though still very cautious.
Renée was not quite as cautious.
Back at the pig pen, Renée is watching from a window just her size.
Putting her best face forward... we think...
Check out the babes...
Watch this Dad...
Com'here, goat. I wont hurt you.
Dad, this picture is of a dragon fly, having 4 wings and a large abdomen. But you are an adult and would not understand such things.
We walked on a large wooden bridge in the park, which leads to Jewel lake.
We had a competition to see who could find the most cridders. Mom won (though none of us are surprised ;-).
Reaching Jewel lake, I spy two ducks and a turtle. Unlike in Hong Kong, Tina states that this turtle is real.
A view of the Chesters at Jewel lake. We found 10 turtles by the shore. Berkeley and the bay are on the other side of the hill.
After lunch in Albany (as we did not bring a lunch) we headed to the steam trains.
All aboard!!!
The miniature 2-3-0 steam engine number 11. We had a blast. Zachary was not scared of the noises as he was last time (when he was 2 years old). Renée loved the train and we heard "too-too" for awhile.
